UMKA-03 controller A programmable controller for automated systems.
Purpose:
- Building of controlling and informational automated systems for technological processes;
- Maintaining the required modes and algorithms of equipment’s performance;
- Creating a system for blocking and emergency protection;
- Distribution of access rights;
- Viewing information about the operation of technological systems in real time; and
- Information acquisition, storage and output by the event log.
Main features:
- The processor capacity enables performing large amount of computations to simulate the processes occurring in the well.
- For user convenience, the controller is equipped with a USB interface, making it possible to read the event logs from the UMKA-03 controller. Information transmission to the PC is performed by ordinary flash memory in less than15 seconds. Software updates are performed from the USB flashcard without stopping ESP; this lasts about 5-10 seconds.
- Information from the UMKA-03 controller is displayed on a widescreen LCD display with a resolution of320x240 pixels. The display has a backlight for improving visibility in low-light conditions.
- The Intelligible interface and simple algorithm for setting set values allows immediately starting work with the controller.
- A wide range of setting parameters and adjustments allow for the performance of all operations according to the corresponding regulations.
- All information about the state, protection activity, operating parameters values, etc. is displayed in text form without any use of numeric codes or symbols requiring interpretation.
- A status menu customizable by the user allows the operator to assess the actual situation at a glance.
Service software is designed to operate with the UMKA-03 controller manufactured by Triol. Its use makes it possible to: - Read information from the VSD;
- View event-logs;
- Investigate the cause of emergencies;
- Analyze data about the state of VSD at the time of an emergency; and
- Control the VSD remotely by changing the set values.
We work with telemetry systems of the following trademarks: “CENTRILFT”, “WOODGROUP-ESP”, “Borets”, “Alnas”, “Izhevsk”, “Elekton”, and “SKAD-2002”. The telemetry systems are connected by the RS232 or RS485 communication channels. For communication with the ACS to the upper level, wireless data transmission technology is used. It integrates into the following ACS: “Region 2000”, “Telescope+”, “ACS” (“Triol ASU”), and “CIS” (“SNG”).

Wide function package:
- Data processing (data can be transmitted from sensors, echo-sounders, submersible telemetry, as well as from working devices, etc.);
- Data transmission to the “upper level”;
- Makes own decisions about the operating modes of the unit.
The user can estimate the equipment’s operating time using information read from the UMKA-03 controller, and then document and archive the information obtained. The contextual menu is used for quick access to the frequently used functions. The service software features pop-up help about the control elements’ functions in order to make it easier for inexperienced users to use the software.
If errors occur during the operation of the software or if the user performs the wrong actions, error messages are displayed in a standard form in the language of software interface or operating system installed on the user's PC.
The Triol software is constantly being developed and can be adapted to the specified well technology. It is supplied free of charge. The topology, software and design of the TriolUMKA-03 are fully developed and implemented by the Triol Corporation.
The controller menu consists of 14 groups (the description of all groups is given later). Each menu contains a set of parameters or a set of menu items from the second level menu. The controller is implemented through several access levels. Some menu items and parameters are not displayed at lower access levels.
At the Customer’s request the specialized software can be developed for solving specific problems.
- “ESM actual parameters”– intended for viewing the ESM operating characteristics.
- “VSD actual parameters”– intended for viewing the VSD operating characteristics and monitoring the mains.
- “Actual input parameters”– intended for viewing the VSD actual parameters.
- “Operating modes”– intended for setting the VSD operating modes and for controlling the FC output frequency.
- “Starting modes” —enables adjusting the VSD starting mode for various conditions.
- “Drive setup”– allows for setting the FC operating parameters and calibrating the current and voltage measurement circuits.
- “Protections”–here, a user may find set values for protections, as well as the parameters defining the ARC debugging in the automatic operation mode.
