Triol TM-01-04 monitoring system
      The monitoring system for detecting parameters of an oil well and an electric submersible motor by using a downhole sensor.

General Description


      Purpose:
      The Triol TM-01-04 is a smart dynamic system (hereinafter referred to as the monitoring system) for monitoring oil-well parameters and controlling the operation of electric submersible motor (ESM). The monitoring system is a hardware-software solution used to provide high-quality measures of oil-well parameters as to the durational influence of the complex environment. The Triol TM-01-04 monitoring system keeps the user informed about the environment and status of submersible equipment at all times.

      The TM-01-04 has a control console, which allows to set up the monitoring and display measured parameters.

      Due to the use of high-end technology in design and production processes, the monitoring system makes it possible to implement both tasks of autonomous operation and also allows user to work in easily accessible system environment. The Triol TM-01-04 monitoring system consists of:
 

 TMN-01-04 ground unit is a ground measurement and computational center. This unit runs as follows:
  • measures insulation resistance;
  • establishes connection with the submersible unit;
  • receives and processes data from the submersible unit;
  • transmits them to a controller of a variable speed drive or an automatic control system.

 

TMP-01-04 submersible unit  is a downhole sensor. This sensor is fixed to an ESM, measures parameters and transmits data to ground unit.


The monitoring system can operate in two modes:
 

 Main mode       The main mode provides the measuring technological parameters and the parameters of the state of the ESP unit. These parameters are transmitted to the UMKA-03 controller, embedded in the Triol AK06 variable speed drive. It makes the operation of an electric submersible pump unit more effective and profitable. In the “main mode”, the Triol TM-01-04 monitors the parameters listed below:
  • Motor oil temperature in the electric submersible motor (ESM);
  • Base oil temperature;
  • Temperature of the ESM end winding;
  • Pressure of the base oil;vibration of ESM along the X, Y or Z axes; and
  • Insulation resistance of circuit “AC-voltage oil transformer – submersible electric cable – ESM”.

    The data is updated every 60 seconds or faster.

 

 Pressure scanning mode       In the pressure scanning mode the following parameters are scanned and transmitted:
  • Base oil temperature (1 measurement);
  • Temperature of ESM end winding (1 measurement);
  • Pressure of base oil (18 measurements);
  • Insulation resistance of circuit “AC-voltage oil transformer – submersible electric cable – ESM” (3 seconds or less).

The data packet is updated every 7 sec or less.
The monitoring log storages parameters listed further:

  • Time and date of measurement;
  • Pressure of base oil;
  • Temperature of base oil;
  • ESM rotation frequency;
  • ESM loading.


The Triol TM-01-04 telemetry system is used by: Rosneft oil company (Nefteyugansk).
